"A man dressed as a character from the "Angry Birds" video game tried to pick up a quartet of children Friday evening in the Gerrity's Grocery Store parking lot at the Keyser Oak Shopping Center in Scranton, police Lt. Marty Crofton said.
After the man, whom Lt. Crofton described as in his 50s with a large belly and glasses, asked the kids if they wanted a ride in his car around 6 p.m., the group ran and told authorities.
The man was spotted reading magazines in the grocery before talking to the children, Lt. Crofton said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 570-348-4134."
