A former New Mexico shoe salesman accused of biting off part of his
girlfriend's toe has been arrested again, this time for allegedly
stalking the woman and trying to cut off her big toe with a cigar
cutter.
Santa Fe police say the incident Monday was the third
attack by 27-year-old Daniel Anaya on his now ex-girlfriend, who has
moved to Albuquerque and had obtained a restraining order against him
after two previous toe-biting incidents.
Police say Anaya, who
used to work as a shoe salesman at a department store, tracked down the
woman at her new home and attacked her, but she was able to fight back
with a metal fork and escape.
Anaya was arrested that evening after he returned to Santa Fe and sought emergency medical treatment.

Guinea Pigs: It's What's For Dinner
The trend to gobble Guinea pigs is now showing up in America:
"South American restaurants on both coasts seem to be pushing the trend, answering to demand mostly from Andean expats for what is considered a fine and valuable food in Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. Middle-class foodies with a taste for exotic delicacies are also ordering, photographing and blogging about guinea pig. The animals — called cuyes in Spanish — are usually cooked whole, often grilled, sometimes deep fried. Many diners eat every last morsel, literally from head to toe."
Now I wonder what Guinea Pig bacon is called?

Man Screaming For Help Turns Out To Be A Goat
A worried resident of Edwards Lane called the Putnam Sheriff’s Department last week to report hearing a man screaming for help.
Dispatchers could also hear the screams in the background of the call.
Deputies Will Page and Gary Davis were dispatched to the area to look for the screaming person.
“When I arrived, I spoke to the complainant,” says a report by Deputy Page.
“We could hear what appeared to be a man screaming for help in the direction of a residence on Jackson Passage north of Edwards Lane.” Deputy Page went in that direction looking for the screamer, he said. Soon, they found him. “It was actually coming from a goat that was tied to a fence,” the report says.
“I spoke to the owner, who stated that he was going to take care of the goat. We then returned to the complainant and notified her that everything was ok.”

Walmart Madness #82! Man Fires Flare Gun Inside Store
Police are searching for a man who shot off a flare gun in Walmart Sunday and slipped out before officers showed up.
According to the police log, officers were called to Walmart on Otis Street at just before 6 p.m. Sunday for a report that a flare gun went off and damaged the floor.
Sgt. Joseph Galvin said employees said a man in his 40s opened a package containing the flare gun and fired it. No one was hurt.
Employees asked the man why he shot the flare, and he told them he “wanted to see if it worked,” Galvin said.
As employees were cleaning up the mess – including some paper towels that were charred by the flare - the man left the store, Galvin said.

Man Sues Girlfriend Over Cat Attack
"William Baxter claims he was caring for Christine
Bobak’s cat on April 22, 2011, at his home when the cat launched an
unprovoked attack while he tried to feed it.
Baxter filed a lawsuit against Bobak on March 22 in Will County Circuit Court seeking $50,000 on each of two counts.
According to the lawsuit, the cat “viciously
attacked, bit and clawed” Baxter, who claims to have suffered serious
injuries from a bite on his ring finger and the clawing of his left arm.
Bobak should have known the cat was dangerous, the
lawsuit states, as it is believed to have attacked at least one other
person before.
The lawsuit said both Baxter and Bobak lived in Homer Glen, at separate residences, at the time of the alleged attack."
