Police stopped the man on Sunday afternoon in the central German city of
Braunschweig after they noticed him committing several traffic offences
on his bicycle, the Bild newspaper reported.
At that point, they noticed a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and
took him back to the police station to give a blood test, and charged
him with being drunk in charge of a vehicle on the road.
Apparently enraged by the incident, the man then returned a few hours
later in a car and slammed it into the wall of the police station -
which he failed to break through.
He was seriously injured, and had to be cut loose from his wrecked car by rescue workers.
A police car was also seriously damaged, though no officers were injured.
