Graves was among four police officers arriving at the victim's home in
response to a domestic disturbance call shortly after 2 a.m. on
September 22 last year.
The 38-year-old escorted the unidentified woman, a maid, to a nearby hotel where she once worked.
Graves
allegedly waited in the hotel's parking lot until a second officer left
on another call, before proceeding to the woman's room.
Once
there he allegedly grabbed the woman, who resisted verbally and
physically, and forced himself on her before leaving the hotel roughly
10 minutes later.
"Physical evidence corroborates the victim's
allegations. The victim positively identified the defendant during the
investigation of this incident," read a report signed by Internal
Affairs sergeant Craig Storlie.
The victim first reported the incident three weeks later and Graves was arrested on Monday following a five month investigation.
The
predatory police officer spent no time in custody, however, after
speedily posting the required $100,000 bail. Graves' arraignment is set
for March 24.
