The 102 Year Old Base Jumper

At 102 years old, Dorothy Custer could be the world’s oldest base-jumper – and after branding her leap into Snake River Canyon ‘too short’, she’s almost certainly among the most discerning.

Ms Custer, who also zip-lined across the Idaho canyon on her 101st birthday last year, was disappointed at how quickly her present to herself was over after jumping from the Perrine Bridge.
Apparently unimpressed by the 486ft descent, she remarked afterwards:

‘It was too short. I don’t know why it went down so quickly – it was alright.’
