Guinea Pigs: It's What's For Dinner

The trend to gobble Guinea pigs is now showing up in America:

"South American restaurants on both coasts seem to be pushing the trend, answering to demand mostly from Andean expats for what is considered a fine and valuable food in Ecuador, Peru and Colombia. Middle-class foodies with a taste for exotic delicacies are also ordering, photographing and blogging about guinea pig. The animals — called cuyes in Spanish — are usually cooked whole, often grilled, sometimes deep fried. Many diners eat every last morsel, literally from head to toe."

Now I wonder what Guinea Pig bacon is called?

Here is the in depth article for your perusal:  NPR

Nope. Can't do it. Look at 'em. They're too cute to be eaten.

They are the wave of the future and they are two times more efficient then cattle at converting food to meat. Soon all cattle will be outlawed because their farts cause global warming and Guinea Pig will be the only red meat sold.

You may as well start eating them today and get used to it! :)
